My guess is the LGA 1155 CPUs will start getting phased out in late April, so that will probably be the best time to get some clearance deals but when do you guys think will be the best time to buy an LGA 1155 CPU?

Solution

Don't you want to get a 3770K? It's the Ivy Bridge equivalent that will cost as much as a 2700K now.

Get a 2700K when Ivy Bridge releases and when there are sales for it. Keep a look out on Newegg, NCIX, TigerDirect, Amazon, Microcenter, etc.

I'm not sure I entirely understand your question. Ivy Bridge is going to utilize LGA 1155. So any mobos with LGA 1155 sockets will support Ivy Bridge when it comes out. It probably won't be starting to get phased out until a few months after Haswell comes out. LGA 1366 hasn't even been phased out too much yet. I'm planning on buying a Pentium G850 then popping in a i5 3750k when it comes out on April 14th.

Either in June when Summer sales start or Cyber Monday when everything is super cheap and all the drivers mature.
You definitely don't want to be caught in another defective SATA problem like the mobos last year for SB.
