Best card for gaming @ 1680x1050

I would go for a single card if your price range is so high. only reason but Microshuttering is still an issue. its not as bad but its still there and when I see a single card for less run the same game I an always shocked. go GTX570 imo

How much does the GTX570 cost ? I already have a GTX460 , so i thought it would be a cheaper solution

For 1680x1050 another 460 would probably be the best solution, but you may have to upgrade your PSU. Which one do you have?
EDIT: At this resolution 2x460 should smash anything on max.

I have an HD5870 and playing at the resolution you mention even Crysis 2 in dx11 and Metro 2033 with all options maxed out easily.

At the current date, I would DEFINATELY reccommend a GTX570, its about 20% faster than my card for dx11 games and even faster in dx9/10 games. At this resolution, the GTX570 will cover you for the next 2 years I belive.

^yeah personally Id recommend 460 sli for the money, but we need to hear about the rest of the ops system first to see if they can even run it... psu/cpu especially

No single GPU card will beat SLI GTX 460's, only the 590, 6990 and maybe that 6870x2 card are faster as single cards, but if you will have to replace your motherboard and PSU to run SLI it won't be a good option for you, hence the requests for more information.

My current rig doesnt support SLI . Its just for the rig that i m gonna build later this year . Do you think the SLI setup would handle even the upcoming titles with ease (@ maybe med settings ) ??

The graphic card upgrade is not for my current rig and its for the rig that im gonna build later this year.

Planned config
CPU : Intel core i5 2500K
Mobo : Not sure yet , but definitely one that enables SLI and Xfire
HDD : Samsung 1 TB Spinpoint 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3
Case : Not sure yet ( considering a pretty cheap case )
PSU : Not sure ( I guess my current PSU can hold the setup for a while )
CPU cooler : Hyper 212+
GPU : Either GTX460 SLI or you name it ( I should be able to play BF3 @ med-high settings )
Pretty impressed by the HD6950 & HD6970

Yup , have to change my PSU and Mobo for a SLI setup .

460s scale very well in SLI. Only at very high resolutions you may experience significant drop in performance mostly due to 1GB of memory per card.

So , thats a GO for GTX460 SLI gaming @ 16x10 ??

I have not found any games yet that use more than 1GB at 1680x1050. Crysis 2 comes close but doesn't quite use a whole gig. SLI 460s are faster than the 6950 or 6970. They also don't use all that much power and a good quality 600w PSU can run 2 of them. I have no clue what kind of PSU an iball runner is though.

Well, it should last you for some time for sure. The next generation GPUs will come in 2012. Therefore, with 2x460s you'll get great performance now and save money. When you feel that 460s do not do the job, a 570 will also be that way and then you'll upgrade to something from the future generation. Therefore, I would say yes.

Its jus a local crap PSU , but can handle a GTX460 not the SLI setup though ( its got a combined 42A on 12V rails )

If it is a crap brand PSU, you'll probably want to upgrade it anyway even if you go with 570.

I was jus wondering since my card came with a factory OC will it give better framerates in the SLI setup than the reference card SLI config ?

Whats your say on the mobo part for Core i5 2500K ?? ($100-$150 would be fine )

What would be the best bang for the buck (<$80) when it comes to cabinets ? (one with LED fans would be nice)

SLI capable motherboards usually come with them.

1.SLI bridge
2.Crossfire Bridge

They serve the same function and look very similar, but they are not physically interchangable if that is what you are asking.

I havn't done any shopping for socket 1155 boards so I can't really help you there. There is an EVGA z68 board that looks good but I have no personal experience with that platform.
