Hello Great Brains and Seasoned Electrical Geniuses (and everyone else),

Setup:
MB: GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3 (rev3)
VID: GIGABYTE Radeon HD 7770 OC 1050GHz 1GB
MEM: Patriot Viper Extreme 2x4GB DDR3 1866MHZ
CPU: AMD FX-6100
PWR: Thermaltake TR2 500w

I recently built my 4th desktop from the ground up, and am having a very strange phenomenon occurring..

At different times and under different loading scenarios (light, medium, heavy, idle), the computer will be operating fine (low temps, low processor/memory demand) and all of a sudden the video will go blackish-grey, and then lose all output to the monitor, as well as having the audio crash and freeze.

The cpu keeps running, however the computer becomes unresponsive to the keyboard and mouse, and requires a reboot.

I have not been able to reproduce the problem on demand (Prime95 ran 3 iterations just fine), but the crash is still occurring at random, and for no particular rhyme or reason.

I am STUMPED! Considering reflashing BIOS. Also going to verify Power supply is good with multimeter today.

CHANGE: Rev 1.1, not rev 3

Reflashed BIOS, comp ran overnight, then crashed again today. Am going to format HDD and reinstall Windows 7 to see if things get resolved.
