AMD FX4100 DOES IT REQUIRE A GRAPHICS CARD

I HAVE AN ASUS M5A78L-MLX MOBO AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT NEEDS A DEDICATED GRAPHICS CARD TO RUN THE AMD FX4100 CPU AND CANT BE RUN FROM MOBO ONBOARD GRAPHICS IS THIS TRUE AS I CANT GET THE FX4100 TO BOOT OR POST

Not true. Your motherboard has an integrated Rdeon HD 3000, so you don't need a dedicated GFX card to boot up your PC. If you have the board and considering running the FX 4100, first upgrade to the latest BIOS and then put on the FX 4100.

Hi thast what i thought no idea why he is telling me that , its just i have the board and it runs fine with an amd sempron on the latest bios but once i instal the fx4100 the board does nothing no beeps no display no post any ideas

I checked CPU compatibility list and the FX 4100 is upgradable since BIOS 0510.

Make sure you have this BIOS version running. When you put back the Sempron, do you see a signal on the screen?

Hi i had to buy a sempron inorder to flash to the latest bios which is 0801 which i thought would allow my new fx cpu to work but nothing happns no signal no beeps no post , but the sempron works fine its what i am using as we speak boots and posts and everything else with the sempron in ,but nohting happens with the fx4100 in

sounds weird. Maybe you should contact Asus support for this problem. Your system works perfectly with other CPUs except the FX....So you're problem is the Asus board.
