Two part question
(current system)
Current Rig
Proc - I7-930 OC'd to 4ghz
Mobo - GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R
Ram - OCZ Gold 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Cooler - Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.B CPU Cooler (Push/Pull)
Graphics Card - XFX ATI 5850 Black Edition
ST75ZF (Silverstone Zeus 750 Watt)
Windows 7 64bit

I am looking for a monitor 21-23 inch that is below $200 that will be ok for gaming. Deus Ex, BF3, Skyrim, ToR, Shogun 2...Idea is to get one to replace my 23inch CRT monitor that is 10-12 years old..and over the span of the year get two more to run in eyefinity

I will be upgrading to 12 gigs of Ram...Not needed but the prices are right and well it could not hurt, I have a triple channel mobo and only running in dual.
Maybe pick up a second 5850 for Xfire if I can find one on the cheap.

Any suggestions, comments, advise?

Also my wife is wanting has been playing Skyrim on her laptop (actually not to bad) and will be playing ToR and was curious if adding more Ram would help her out

Pavilion dv7-4170us
AMD Phenom II N850 / 2.2 GHz
4 gigs
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470
Windows 7 64bit

If you can find a third stick of that 2 GB RAM I'd suggest that over buying a completely new set of 12 GB. Your system's pretty nice. The bottleneck will be the GPU, so I'd look into replacing that. A second 5850 might be nice if you can get one for cheap.

I don't think more RAM will help your wife's laptop (gaming).

Had thought about getting just a single set of Ram (same type and model) but the asking price for a single 2 gig is crazy expensive as it is very hard to find that model number now, it is cheaper just to get new set (as odd as that sounds)

Tell you the truth... laptop.. i don't know.
It will run it but very lower setting.
However for your desktop.
ATI 6950 2gb will be really great upgrade and memory are fine.
Any size any monitor that has lower then 4ms it's really good for play games.
2ms, 4ms are gamer choice of led or lcd monitor.
good luck~
