amd athlon ii x3 460 rana 3.4ghz does it need thermal paste? I bought it and it did not come with it and I thought it would. Maybe Im just wrong? Im replacing a celeron 450 i mean even with no thermal paste itll be fine for a few days til i get some or what should i do?

Did you buy a cpu only?
No cooler?
If the box includes a cooler the paste is pre-applied on the bottom of the cooler.
Clean off the old paste first with Isopropyl alcohol.
DO NOT run the cpu without paste!

Ok wait...the CPU came with a big fan with a huge steel thing on the bottom of it Im new to this stuff but have been doing well building computers lol

AND WOW so i just looked at the all that came in the box and on the bottom of the heatsink fan thing theres paste applied to a rectangle section so i think i figured it out ... im just nervous on installing it lol

You're good to go!
Use some alcohol to remove the old paste from the cpu.
I just use a soft paper towel.
