Canon pixma IP3500 not in device manager

Suddenly the Pixma IP3500 will not print text. If I open A WORD document and press print, the paper feeds through blank. If I print the test page, it just prints the logo in the upper left corner. If a page has diagram on it, it will print the diagrams but not the text on the page.

I am using Windows 7 and the printer has been working fine until now.

I uninstalled the printer, rebooted the computer, and windows installed the drivers.

I performed all the cleaning tasks in maintenance.

the printer does not show up in Device Manager.
