Uggggggghhhh..... This is a real drain. Brand new everything, just built and about to install an os on the machine, but....
The dam stock fan doesnt seem to be working. I am quite confused and about to send it back but i just want to make sure i am not missing something. I have the GA z68x ud3h b3 revision 1.3. I have set the smart fan controller to disabled which should make it run all the time really fast, but still no luck. I really hate the bios menus too which aint helping. I dont understand the pwm thing, but i dont think thats the problem cause its set to auto. What are some other common problems a newb like me will run into in this situation, and how do i fix it? Thanks alot in advance. Also at what cpu temperature would the fan kick in with smart fan controller on?

Are you sure the fan is connected properly to The CPU Fan header?

What do you mean by not working? Is it on high all the time, or not running at all?

sorry, not running at all. Is the Fan header the 4 pin plugin to the motherboard?

Yes, it's the 4-pin header. If it's not running at all and it's on auto in the bios, as it should be, then you have a defective unit.
