I am using speedfan and it keeps show temps at 50c or higher never lower than that. I don't know if i applied thermal paste wron or that when i had to readjust the fan during the build i messed up the thermal paste or if i put too much on. I have an xclio windtunel no extra fans except the ones on the side and the stock i5 fan. What can i do to make the heat go down?

Well if you put more than just a little dab the size of a grain of rice on the heatsink, then you used too much thermal paste, and it is trapping heat, rather than conducting it away.

It sounds like an aftermarket heatsink might be what you need, the stock one sounds like it's doing OK, but it could be better. Do you have an intake fan blowing in from the front of the case towards that back. It sounds like that's the one you're missing.

Is 50C actually considered hot for your CPU?

im not sure what hot is lol I figured anything above 50 is too hot
plus speedfan has like a flame next to it so i assumed it was bad?

50 is not hot, but it's warm for idling. If it stays under 60 when under load, then it's OK.
