I need help with my GPU

Hi, I just got into the geforce website to check for updates and theere is an option to check if your pc is ready to handle battlefield 3, which im going to play. I have the GTX-275 and it says that it does not meat the game's recomended requirement. The recommended GPU for Battlefield 3 is a GeForce GTX 560 or higher.

I have been playing the battlefield 3 beta and it doesn't run very smoothly. What do u recomend me to do. Thanks in advance.

They make a recommendation for a reason...If they say you need a GTX560 or higher, then you need to upgrade to a GTX560 (or higher) or be satisfied with choppy, laggy, video.
What are the specifications of the rest of your system? It may be time for a new build.

Thanks for the advice! Ill probably end up buying a gtx 560, will this be enough?
I have an intel core i7 cpu 920, 6GB ram, the gforce gtx 275, and my mother board is the Asus P6T . I think thats all you need. what else do you need?

what PSU do you have ? what resolution are you gaming at ? and you need to get the GTX 560Ti not the GTX 560, the Ti performs better... and will max the game out... the benchmarks showed that HD 6950, GTX 560 can max it out easily... arounf 50s and 60s FPS

Ok, so ill better get the GTX 560Ti .. The resolution Im playing is 1680x1050 and my PSU is the TX850 W corsair.
Please let me know if I need something else than the GPU.

275 was a good card for its time, Like the 260 216 if offered good performance and value, especially given when multi gpu (bring back x60 cards that offer 3way SLI nVIDIA !!!!! )

560ti, will run it fine, i dont know if it will handle Ultra settings tho, might do due to the lowish res

the alpha wasnt a good judge of what will run it. the beta is alot more along the lines of what i thought it would end up at in terms of the benchmarks ive seen. everyone either thought it was going to be too demanding or not at all and ultra on a 460, which in the alpha that was kinda true, but the beta has proven otherwise.

I think I will just wait for something new to come out. Since I can play the game normally with my actual GPU Ill wait and buy something better later and dont expend the money right now :D
