Internet trouble

Ok, I Windows 7 on my laptop, I have firefox and internet explorer, nither of them will pull up the browser, the icon just lights up then nothing happens, what can i do.
Oh by the way i did "cmd" and it came back fine. Thanks

I think you need to clarify a bit.

You did "cmd" ? Do you mean your router is showing a gateway IP ?

Icon lights up ? Which ?

The browser doesn't load seems to be what you are saying.

do you have an AntiVirus program? Can you update and run it?
