not using all the cds for BG II?

Hi i just got BGII and i thought i read in passing something about
being able to play the game with out using any CDs or just one. is
this possible? if so how? also, i'm playing the japanese version of BG
II hope that doesn't make too much of a difference...i think the files
are still the same

If you do a 'full install', all files are copied to your hard disk.
Now the game only checks for CD 1 during startup. There
are no-CD patches on the internet, but they probably only
work for the English version of the game. But you could give
it a try. I never used one though.
