I'm looking for something around 150.00 approx. I play BF3 and want something to push my FPS up. I have a 6770 OC graphics card. Is the card too weak? Both??? Thanks in advance.

Yes better change the video card ....

XFX HD-687A-ZHFC Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

But what power supply you got..?

500 Watt or greater power supply with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended (600 Watt and four 6-pin connectors for AMD CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)
http://support.amd.com/us/certified/power-supplies/Page...

You should get around 60% more performance than your 6770...

A 6870 isn't that much of an upgrade. At least a 6950.

6870 is a big upgrade from a 6770 but 6870 to 6950 is even less of an upgrade.

If your trying to play online, a dual core cpu won't cut it at all, won't matter what video card. Even on medium settings with a 6990.

HD6870 + PH-II x4 980 BE 3.7Ghz stock with good cooling can hit 4.2Ghz+.

Well sadly I cant go out and buy 2 new mother boards, 2 new processors. So I'll be shopping for the best deal on an AMD. I greatly appreciate the input. This community rocks. Any thought on the theory that X3 are best for gaming? Just a rumor I heard. If not I'll be shopping for a cpu around 150.00. Again thanks fellas. And ladies if there happens to be one. Honestly if you game, you're one of the guys.

Remember he only have $150 Budget....if you guys can suggest all the parts within $150 that is welcome.

and if he have more budget the next step is upgarde the CPU....

Upgarde the Video is easy ... and we can reuse the video card in the new system...
may be he want to change to a i5 later..

But for increase more fps.. 6770 to 6870 is a big jump..already..

I'm not family with the brand of your power supply but if it say 80 Plus Certified... it should be ok..anyway you need to try first.

I agree with noob2222. For BF3, you can just put in the 970X4 and be done with it, coz 6770 is not too shabby and it can be OC to decent levels. The 6870 isnt a big leap in performance nor does it have enough OC headroom like the 6770. OP, before you buy anything, just OC you BE cpu to around 4.0 ghz(these dual phenoms go to 4.2 w\o voltage change). DO, it slowly though, like start with 3.6 then check for stability, then 3.8 and then finally 4.0 My gut feeling says you might get a good bump in performance for zero $s itself. Though, a quad is certainly what you should be looking at to next upgrade.

The 6870 is like 2x 6770 in CF LOL what are you on about the 6870 is a big leap in performance over the 6770 heck even the 6850 is.

I think I may have found the only 1100T left in the retail world that isnt so priced out of value. I got a brand new one for 198.00 in the box. My wife told me not to worry about her comp til next month. So that increased the budget a bit. That's effin awesome of the wife. It only took me 3 days (yes 3) of scouring the online retail world. While googling for reputable retailers I stumbled onto NCIX from a ton good of reviews. I called and got a cofirmation and it shipped the same day. I got it from NCIX so I know I'm not getting screwed. Sadly it was litterally the last one. Hell I couldnt find anything above 1145t for a while. When I saw the 1100T in stock I was sure it was an error. Hell Newegg has them marked as deactivated. If you can't tell by the 5000 word post I'm pretty stoked. And yeah I'll be looking for an upgrade for the 6770. Maybe run it X2 in crossfire. I can buy 2 for around 200.00 and thats 100.00 les than my budget. Did I mention my wife rocks? Thanks guys n gals. This is truly a great community for advice, pissing contests j/k, and user reviews.

I gotta say NCIX-US kills the competition on price, availability, and speedy delivery. XFX 6850 for 132.99. 152.00 with out rebate. Newegg 139.00 with rebate and 159.00 with out. I'm leaning towards the XFX brand over reputation and reviews.
