I've heard that magnets can damage Hard Drives and the computer case I want to purchase has magnetic dust filters on the front intake fans and on the side intake fans, both of which seem too close for comfort to the Hard Drive cage, so I'm wondering could those magnets damage the hard drive?

No those magnetic dust covers are not going to cause any problems at all. They have very low magnetic pull. Corsair is not going to put something like that in there case that would cause harm to the harddrives.
