Hello,

This is probably a bit of a stupid question, but does this Kingston HyperX RAM work in this Gigabyte motherboard? At first, I thought it did definitely, but the voltages might be different or something preventing them working??? To be honest, I don't have a clue, and I would be grateful for a fast response since I am ordering my PC tomorrow. Thanks in advance :) .

Yes it will work but is 1.5 volts at 1333MHz and 1.65 volts at 1600MHz. LGA 1155 calls for 1.5volt ram.

Ok, so with that RAM in the motherboard, it will only function at 1333MHz?

No. You can choose to run it at 1600 with 1.65v but it might reduce the longevity of your CPU. 1.5 is recommended. 1.65 is do-able

I'm really sorry but I don't know much about this stuff :(  I didn't realise RAM could be so complicated!

Since I have started this post, I have changed my mind on the RAM I want to use but I'd like to keep the same motherboard. I'd be really grateful if either of you would be able to answer this question:

If it helps, my CPU is an i5 3570k. I really don't want the CPU to deteriorate. I am aiming for this PC to last me at least 3 years, if not 5 :) .
