Is there a way to tell what OS you got

hi i have windows 7 and i thought it was x64 but now im not sure because it only reads 4gb of memory. when i right clik and go to my computer and properties it says system is x64 under where it says system. and just says windows home premium under windows edition

my computer is a x58 ddr3 triple channle computer core i7 920

You dont mention your system specs but some older motherboards did not have the memory remapping features to support more then 4GB of ram.

Try this.

Start > Run > msconfig > Boot > Advanced options > and make sure maximum memory is unchecked.
 


indeed, check for something like memory remapping in for physical address extension in the bios. In fact does the bios show 6GB, during the initial startup?
 

What is your mobo model and post RAM stick names.

On x58 u must have the slots properly filled. Check your manual. Use slot 1+3 +2.

Is your mobo Gigabyte?
 

What I mean, post link or post brand name, model, size ...

RAM is a sensitive component, so if u mix it with non match, chances are that it could be trickier than it looks.

Especially, when u are using so many of the sticks : )
