Chassis Question

I have a Corsair 500R. What are the drive cages for, located on the lower right. I've looked at videos on Youtube and it's usually taken out or empty. Is this where I mount an SSD because I don't have a SSD mounting bracket.

They are just normal hdd cages, they may be removed to help with airflow or to allow one to mount a rad in the bottom,
and you can get ssd adaptors if you really need one, they look like this, although I'm not recommending you buy lurid green hehe

I guess I will just remove the mid section cages since I will only have a HDD and one SSD. I see screw holes in the SSD, but how do I insert it into the plastic 3.5" trays? The holes in them are larger than the SSD.

check there are 6 of them to from 3.5 to 2.5 compattibility in the case they use the bottom one
