Upgrade cpu from single to dual-core

Please let me know what I have to "tell" the BIOS to accept the swap.

You have to update the bios.

It depends entirely on what motherboard you're using and whether it supports the processor you're trying to use. Sometimes a BIOS update does the trick, other times it simply isn't compatible.
