Hello guys,

I'm planning to upgrade my motherboard from a socket 775 one to a socket 1155 one. I need to upgrade my motherboard becouse I'm upgrading to a new processor soon. Should I upgrade PSU instead of Motherboard first? By the way, I'm planning to upgrade to an i5 2500k or better. What PSU and Motherboard do YOU recommend me?

My PC specs :

GFX: HD 6770 1GB GDDR5 (VTX3D)

Processor: Intel Pentium E5700 - Dual-Core CPU, 3.00 GHz

Package: Socket 775 LGA

Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC.

Model: P5G41T-M LX2/GB

RAM: 4GB DDR3 400 MHz

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 (build 7601)

DX: DirectX 11

PSU: PLATINUM MS-400 ATX P4 (400W)

My driver: Catalyst 12.11-7900 MOD

Thank you very much!

Well finding your psu is quite easy.Just look at the specs or details of you graphic card, processor, and motherboard.Add on 100 more for etc.

I recommend a z77 lga1155 motherboard.Basically all third gen intel chipsets use z77.Unless you are willing to upgrade to a i7-3970k or higher, by which then use a 2011 board, but they are quite expensive.

So you are saying I should upgrade my PSU to at least 500W?
