Id just like to say I'm not up to speed as it were in today computer world, ive been slowly doing research on all the new tech and what not, so forgive any redundant statements from me please and thank you.

Also hello call me Shio, Im sure ill be lurking alot =)

So this is going to be my first build, i had planned an LGA775 build back in the day but never did, im going AMD to stay on the cheap i know Intel is god, im trying to make this upgrade friendly im not sure if im doing a good job or not so any help id be thankful.
I want to O.C my cpu to 4ghz that's really it i just want to hit that mark, so from what ive been reading am3+ mobos are backwards compatible with am3 cpu which is what ill be getting since the bulldozer stuff isn't all that great it seems and it will leave me some room to upgrade in the future.

Approximate Purchase Date: Tax Time =)
Budget Range: Somewhere around $800
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, gaming and gaming.
Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS. dvd drive
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: been using newegg.com for pricing and reviews, seem cheaper than tigerdirect meh.
Country: USA
Parts Preferences: I would like to build a high end AMD rig i guess, cause its still cheap.
Overclocking: Yes, Will be my first time, going to take it slow, lots to read yet.
SLI or Crossfire: Yes but only one card for now.
Monitor Resolution: IDK...

Additional Comments:

So this is what ive been looking at, thoughts?

CPU:

The CPU ive been looking at, and i think im set on it.
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 3.3GHz, 3.7GHz Turbo Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor Want to over clock to 4ghz maybe more later on.

Motherboard:

this board seems nice and like it has every thing i want but reviews got me spooked that is going to be DOA... Its seen a little pricey

ASUS Crosshair V Formula AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Gaming Motherboard with 3-Way SLI/CrossFireX Support and UEFI BIOS

This board seems just as nice is a tad cheaper and since this is a budget build is looking real nice plus doesn't seem to have many issuse. Im not really set on any mobo maker so im open to any suggestions or recommendations. cheaper be ok.

ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Something MSI or GIGABYTE would work to, just unsure what.

Graphics card: Want to do SLI/CrossX...

This card is beast looking and as of right now "black friday" is only 300 marked down from 500, it will more than likely go back up...

DIAMOND A5970PE52G Radeon HD 5970 2GB 512 (256 x 2)-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card - OEM

anyway 300$ is where im going to stand on a gpu and i would go higher than that as really this is probably going to be the most expensives part i get, i like nivida to so any suggestions or recommendations again would be great.
Maybe this GTX 560 Ti 448 core that's coming out the 29th? im liking the look of it. =)

CASE:

This case looks nice good reviews and seems like enough room for big GPU cards, im sold unless someone has a better idea.
COOLER MASTER HAF 912 RC-912-KKN1 Black SECC/ ABS Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Cooling:

Artic Silver 5

This cooler looks good, high reviews and good price im just worried if it will fit ok hmm =/ I'm honestly worried, seems people have problems with every heat sink made...

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" Long Life Sleeve 120mm CPU Cooler Compatible Intel Core i5 & Intel Core i7

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" Long Life Sleeve 120mm CPU Cooler Compatible Intel Core i5 & Intel Core i7

This one looks good to, but again will it fit the mobo i get hmm...

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 92mm Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler

RAM: Want to Start out at least 8gb with room for 16 but ram seems cheap now so meh, no idea what brand or speed...

Hard drive: IDK not sure what to look for in an hdd beside size.

Power supply: IDK something with upgradeability in mind i guess.

I would recommend going with i5-2500k especially that ur use is only gaming

now see i new you were going to say that, lol i guess i could but if i had the cash to drop id just get that i7 2600k or w/e it is so id be set for a good while, this rig is more a learning experience, and only really has to last a year and ill build another, beside amd could drop something huge on the am3+ socket you never know.

And when i say gaming i mean like ,modded fallout 3 and NV/shyrim maybe star craft 2, daiblo 3 when it drops, dont know it this will handle it on not meh.

that case has no filters wich will create lot's of dust i would suggest to look elsewhere
no need for 2600k as it doesn't offer any advantage in gaming

Ok ok, I could add filters, any other cases come to mind tho in that price range?
And if that card stays at 300 I think I will pick one up.

the only problem with that card is that it will stutter if u play on 1080+ resolution .. but otherwise it will murder GTX 580 for a fraction of a price
Try Cooler master http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
it's currently sold out on newegg .. no wonder it was going for $50 after MIR
but u can try amazon or tiger

You know I've been thinking... For the money an I5 2500k build wouldn't be much more and it dose out perform that amd x6.... I just wanted to be different...

I understand. U could be different with other components like mobo case and gpu

I think it would be better to buy z68+i3-2100 or so, look for bundle deals, and it will be also a good platform for future upgrades ;)

Ok this is it, i have two builds, havent decided on either yet, but ones intel and one AMD, the intel one is only about 80 bucks more, but id like to try and knock some penny's off each build, for one i think the psu might be over kill, the AMD build i have 1 Radeon HD 6870, but thats just starting out, ill be buying a PowerColor AX6870X2 for 3way crossfire later on, so would this psu really be over kill or could someone recommend one that's maybe cheaper with the same quality.

The intel ill probably dual up sooner or later to, but yeah anybody have any insight to share? still haven't found hdds yet.
