Could I use legacy PCI card with thunderbolt port by the following way: I put this card into PCI to PCIe expansion, and PCIe card of this expansion into PCIe to thunderbolt expansion?

It would probably work, but I wouldn't recommend it because PCI is very slow, which would defeat the purpose of Thunderbolt. Also, I believe that Thunderbolt expansion cards are pretty rare and expensive, unless you already have one. Please note the difference in speeds of these two interfaces:

I might not have understood your question, but hopefully I did.

First of all, pcie is still way faster that thunderbolt but the only problems here is the price and the right technology.

There is one out there asus made it happens, but only work with 10 listed asus motherboard, and price 200$...for the pcie thunderbolt

The only real option here is the other thunderbolt extension, i dont really remember the specific name, and build in thunderbolt port.

Fear not 40% of 1150(haswell) motherboard PROBABLY will include build in thunderbolt

But th is still way expensive right now, u might want to wait many month to come to let it price down and probably more pcie th card or probably will not happens

Hope i safe from any fire xD
