Alright well i am going to build a new rig which has

MSI P67A-G43
LGA 1155, Intel P67 chipset
Intel Core i5-2500K
3.3 GHz (3.7 GHz Turbo), Quad-Core, 6 MB L3 Cache
8GB rip jaw g skill
Corsair 850 watt PSU
IN WIN Dragon Rider Black 1.0 - 0.8mm SECC Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case

The only thing that i need now is what gpu/GPUs to buy I have around a 550$ budget on gpu
At first i was going to go with crossfire 6850
then bumped it up to crossfire 6870
also thought about crossfire 6950
But i heard crossfiring Gives you MicroStudders and i don't really want that so i was thinking on buying a Single
GTX 580.
Do any of you guys know how bad the micro studdering is and which card would you suggest you can suggest cards that are not listed i will take anything thanks.

I would get a HD 6970 since it can play anything out on the market including Battlefield 3 with no problems. You shouldn't really need to crossfire two 6970's together unless your using it for video editing or animation but to each their own.

Hmm What does a single HD 6970 compare to on nvidias side. I have never owned ATI only Nvidia I wanted to try an ATI card on this build anywho I believe it compares to the gtx 570 correct?

6970 or equiv nVidia card will do great unless you plan on playing super high res with eyecandy.

Not trying to sell you anything here, but I can tell you that BFBC2 and BF3 just would not be the same game w/o my three 24" screens!

If you think you'd ever want to check out Eyefinity then I would go crossfire 6950/70 2GB.

Hmm well i only use Two screens now since i have only Had Nvidia as of now i have a gtx 560 ti and my screen size is 23' at 1920x1080 so i just want a card a better then my current one that runs cold.

HD 6850/70 are garbage GPUs for micrusttering, i always state to that when i saw the charts by tomshardware.
HD 6950s/70 will beat a isngle GTX 580... HD 6970s in CF are equal in performance if not better than HD 6990.
also a pair of GTX 560Ti will beat a single GTX 580
http://www.guru3d.com/article/geforce-gtx-560-ti-sli-review/11

you don't have to spend a lot on the GPUs specially at this year as a signle card will do the job just fine....

AMD 7K series XDR2 rambus memory is twice faster than GDDR5, beside 28nm = less power & heat and the 1 GHZ GPu frequency, the power of transistors.......... a single HD 7950 is expected to perform better than HD 6990

If that's the case I can't wait to ebay these two 6950's! :)
