Hello,
I just tried to update my CPU, and prior to the installation, everything worked absolutely fine. I installed my new CPU, heatsink and fan, and when it booted up, everything sounded normally, but there is no video. When I replaced the old CPU, the same problem occurred.
The only new noise that I determined was a clicking sound, not from the vicinity of the hard drive, but rather it seems to come from either the ethernet port, strangely enough, or the edge of the video card.
I have a:
AMD Phenom II x 4 980 3.7Ghz upgraded from AMD Athlon II x4 2.9 Ghz.
AM3 Socket Motherboard
Radeon HD6790
650W Power Supply
12 GB Corsair Ram
Any help would be appreciated.
