Hello,
I just wanted to check if the following components will work ok

EVGA 580 superclocked x2 (two way SLI)
Corsair AX1200 Gold psu
p8p67 deluxe
i7 2600k with Noctua NH-D14
ripjaws x 8gb 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 @1.5v
Haf X
windows 7 64 bit
hard drive and optical drive sorted
5760x1080 resolution

My questions are this:

1. Have I chosen the right brand of 580? I have heard that stock cooling is best for the 580 because there will only be about 2 - 3inches between both cards on the motherboard (motherboard is sli certified). I was thinking about twin frozrs, but those are said to damage each card becuase they exhaust air into the case rather than behind it.

2. My pc will have wheells but will be on carpet. Will it be ok to mount the fan on the PSU so that it faces the carpet, or will it cause damage to my system? (about 2 inches gap between fan and carpet

3. Will the high voltage of the PSU damage my graphics cards and components?

4. Any bottlenecks or recommendations?

I hope I won't run into any SLI problems... I don't want to go for a gtx 590, rather this because it is more powerful. And don't tell me to go quad sli 590 or 3gb 580s in sli, can't afford it!

Thanks very much in advance ^^

you have gotten the excellent pc.
1.you have chosen the right brand keep it.
2.it will be ok.
3.no damage.they are fine.
4.no sign of any bottleneck.
5.2gtx 580 can beat single gtx 590 easily.

Becuase I have 3 monitors, does it matter which DVI ports i use on the gtx 580? Apparently makes a difference, especially on the second card in sli

Yes, they will work. I believe the Haf X has good enough airflow that the Twin Frozrs may prove superior to the rear exhausting ones.

I wouldn't place my PC on a carpet.

I think you're confusing something. All computer PSUs convert AC to 12V/5V/3.3V DC.

A newer Z68 motherboard maybe. Not really a concern though, I just like going for the newest chipsets ;)

No probs :D

I prefer stability over power, and I feel stock cooling is more secure for my system, not just the cards.

I'm not going to change the floor of my bedroom just for my computer... What should I do then?

Yeah, I already have a p67 which got fried, so not much I can do about changing it.

your current is good enough don't worry but if you can afford to get z68 chipset same in asus.
Adding 2nd card gives you only performance not any problem.

Make sure you put something under your case. I have seen a static buildup/discharge short out my friends a/v receiver which he had placed on the carpet. Almost caused a fire in his apartment.
