Asrock z77m pcie problem

So I have a GTS 250 ( I know old and dated) plugged into the PCIE 3.0 port on the ASRock z77m. The problem is the motherboard does not recognize anything being plugged into this port. The graphics card works on an older computer of mine and in the new computer of mine the fan is running and seems to be running fine.

The BIOS is 1.5 and I have it set for PCIE 2.0

Is there any way to get this to work? When I go into the system diagram it does not show anything being in the PCIE 3.0 port. I cannot plug it into the lower PCIE 2.0 port because of the power supply.

The lower slot would not do you any good since it is limited to X4 speed, presuming that everything is connected right inclusive of power to the card you might have gotten a bad board.

Yeah I contacted ASRock and they just emailed me yesterday saying to contact the vendor for mainboard exchange.

I guess its a bad board

Did you exchange the motherboard? Do you have it working with the same configuration?

I met the same behavior with Radeon HD4870 in PCIE1
