Hello.
I live in India. I have a VIP 500 w gold edition psu.
I wanted to know if that psu can handle a 6850 or 7770.
I have a i5 2400.

I have a friend who runs GTS 250 on it.
I think it is a cheap psu brand.

But if there is someone who has used this psu please let me know.

If not 6850 then which gpu can this psu can handle.

Please help.

Thank you.

I searched the internet and found it is FSP Blue Storm 500. Actually it is made for 460w and relabeled as 500w.
Please help.

Thanks.
But what did you do for two connectors....you have only one.

Which gpu will you recommend for 1600x900. I mean you have 6870. Do feel it is enough for the resolution or it is overkill?

6870 is still a overkill for for resolution.anything like 6790 or 6850 will max out anything.you can run a single card setup on a 500w~ psu.xfx would be my suggestion,if not available then tell me the available brands.

get a 6870 if using 1080 and 6790 if 1600x900 and even a 6450 will suffix for 720p

as for connectors the psu contain 1 6 pin and graphic card provider asus provided 1 molex to 6 pin its actually 2 molex to 1 6 pin

and for psu corsair is available so buy 550w corsair 80+ bronze these rating helps to save ur electricity bill as electricity is costly. Dont buy gold and platinum only upto silver as it does not justify the cost
:)

for futher questions u can sent me a personal message :D

For a system using a single Radeon HD 7770 graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 450 Watt or greater power supply. The power supply should also have a combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 22 Amps or greater and have at least one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

For a system using a single Radeon HD 6850 graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 500 Watt or greater power supply. The power supply should also have a combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 25 Amps or greater and have at least one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

Total Power Supply Wattage is NOT the crucial factor in power supply selection!!! Total Continuous Amperage Available on the +12V Rail(s) is the most important.

The VIP 500W GOLD SMPS (460W Continuous/500W Peak), with its maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 30 Amps and with one (6+2)-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector, is should be sufficient to power your system configuration with a single Radeon HD 7770 or Radeon HD 6850.
