High Pitched Squeeling

I have recently been noticing this high pitched squealing noise coming from my year old home build. I have looked around for hours but can't seem to find any answers online. The interesting thing is that this sound only occurs when the computer is idle. When a webpage, for example, is loading, the sound stops momentarily, then starts at the completion of the load.

Due to the high pitch of the noise it is very difficult to pinpoint its location, but I believe it is coming from the motherboard.

It is also somewhat choppy, it isn't a completely smooth sine wave tone, it sounds granular, if that makes sense.

Let me know if any other info is relevant.

Get a stethoscope. Amazon has one for $2.25 + shipping, for example.

My first guesses are power supply or motherboard, but my money's on the PSU. Some PSUs have coil whine and you hear it at different times. Mine whines when the GPUs are under load (games and movies really).

If I stick my head into my case (it's big enough), I am almost certain that the sound is not coming from my PSU.
