Can 250 watts take 2gb ram

i have a dell dimension 3000 and i would like to upgrade the ram to 2 gb right now it think it has like 565 mb of ram or something like that.i was wondering if i would have to upgrade my power supply too if i upgraded to 2 gb ram.

    No, you'll be fine, ram hardly uses 1w
  2. DRAM chips use 150-250mW each while active so a typical 16-chips DIMM would use ~2.5W. Still pretty much inconsequential as far as PSUs go but quite a bit more (relatively speaking) than 1W.
