Found this on a website... Can't wait! Sounds like it could be a mixture
of SC, VF, and Dynasty Warriors!

A new title from the popular SoulCalibur series is due to be released in
2005 exclusively on PS2.
SoulCalibur III offers the series' hallmarks of sword-fighting action and
profound martial arts while also delivering improved graphics and sound
effects.

It also features a Character Creation Mode, which allows players to create
original warriors.

The game also features three new characters:

- Zasalamel (tentative name) This mysterious man desires to raise the evil
sword. He drags those who witness the sharp light from his giant scythe to
the abyss of death.

- Tira (tentative) An angel of death from the darkness with a bird-like
grace, she plays with lives using her Ring Blade.

- Setsuka (tentative) The wandering beauty on a lonely journey. She lives
for her revenge with a sword hidden in her umbrella.

Modes:

- Character Creation Mode Allows the player to customise appearance, weapons
and roles of a character

- Story Mode Offers stories unique to each character

- Lost Chronicle Mode Offers the hybrid combination of combat strategy
simulation and fighting game element

- Soul Arena Mode Offers variations of battles in special situation

- World Competition Mode offers world championship battles against virtual
tough contestants, all aiming for the top

- Vs Standard Mode 2-Player fighting mode which offers a quick battle

- Vs Special Mode 2-Player fighting mode with rich variations of battles
features and special situation

- Vs Competition Mode Single to multi-player mode, offering knockout
tournaments and league competition

- Practice Mode offers training facilities where players can sharpen their
skill

- Museum Mode enables players to check items obtained in the game and view
the history of the SoulCalibur series

Too bad it's a PS2 exclusive. I want it on Xbox because the 720p resolution
on Soul Calibur 2 looked unbelievable.

I lost complete interest in this game as soon as they announced there
wasnt going to be an online mode of any kind. I think its completely
old skool now if a head-to-head game lacks it.
I mean, anyway that Midway could pull it off with Mortal Kombat?
Tekken 5, hot game.
Love it.
Namco said they cut the online mode because the game disc was full.
I would have easily foregone the customizatiions and that Devil Within
game to be able to scrap with players around the globe, and test to
see just how well ive mastered Raven.

The XBox version looked better all around, not just in 720 mode.
It's exclusives like tis as to why Sony will be #1 as long as they choose to
be.
I'd would much rather have SC3 on the Xbox but I can't fault Sony for
knowing how to stay ahead.

Do you know for a fact that SC3 won't have online play?

Sony could be in trouble - they might be forced to release the PS3 early I
reckon. Have you guys heard about the court ruling against them? Immersion
vs Sony... Sony's been ordered to stop all shipments of PS2s, Dual Shocks
and 47 software titles. They have filed an appeal, but... well, we'll see.
And I'm not entirely sure, but I think they also have to pay a grand total
of 90 million US$?

As long as it's being appealed Sony can keep selling their PS2's
