Hi guys. Researching for an i5-3570 gaming build. I'm buying from Microcenter and have narrowed down my mobo choices to one of these two.

ASUS P8Z77-V LK LGA 1155 Z77 ATX Intel Motherboard - $120

OR

ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Z77 ATX - $135

First question is which mobo you would choose. Other considerations are the Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H and the MSI Z77A-G45. I will be overclocking, nothing extreme.

The second question I have is which memory to go with. My current build has GSkill Ripjaws. There are so many RAM options on newegg that get 5 star reviews. With the above mobo's and cpu, what should i look for specifically, or just pick any well reviewed ddr3 RAM with good speed and timings? I read in here somewhere that its a waste to get anything more than 1600 ram. Is that accurate? I was thinking these few here.

G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) - $40

or

G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) - $45

or

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 - $45

or

CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) - $40

Thanks in Advance.

For memory, I vote the G Skill Sniper. 1866MHz at the price of 1600MHz is a good deal.

For motherboard, most people would probably recommend the Asrock Extreme4. I prefer the Gigabyte D3H though.
