That card won't get you much bang for your buck. I recommend looking here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709%204027&IsNodeId=1&name=%2475%20-%20%24100 for good deals. Some even have mail in rebates. I would recommend saving up at least 20 more bucks and getting a card in the 100 dollar range. I originally got a gt430 for around 40 bucks. It played some basic games, but not the best. The one you are looking at is the 5xxx series and it is a model lower than that one. Also if you are on a tight budget you might consider getting an ati/amd graphics card. They run cheaper. So shop around. If you are new at this like I am, then make sure you do plenty of research. Look at different benchmarking sites to get a general idea of which card is better.

i call BS, i can play almost every game, GTA IV, CRYSIS, WoW, etc, at medium to high 2x AA at 1920 x 1080 on my 5670

If i were you, i would get this http://www.ebay.com/itm/HIS-Radeon-HD-5770-1GB-128-bit-GDDR5-PCI-Express-2-1-x16-/230680941399?pt=PCC_Video_TV_Cards&hash=item35b5a7d357#ht_1943wt_1186
It's a 5770 for 70$, 5 of them in stock NEW. It's the best card you will get for that price i have seen. I use a 5770 btw, and it's pretty good for the buck.

This will outperform any of the other cards they have listed for the price, including the 6670, gt520. Basically these regularly go for 100-120, but it's a good deal, GRAB IT WHILE YOU CAN!...lol, i would get one to CF my current one, but i'm a ASUS dude.

im at 1080p aswell on the bf3 beta it was 25 to 30fps at all times, crysis was the same both had to be set to minimum to be playable, im on the 512mb version however, regardless a 5770 is a massive step up as it has double the stream processors and (for me) double the memory

TWO GTX 580's in SLI LOL  JK JK.Look man in my honest opinion save your money to get a gtx 550 ti 1 GB at least. I dont even reccomend that card but if your looking for budget it should be okay. As far as 80 bucks amd 5670 1 gb should do it or 5770. Make sure whatever PSU you have can handle it. The suggestion your friend gave you is a pretty weak GPU. Go for gold with 5670 youll be fine. The 5670 can run BF3 beta on low medium settings. I know this from personal expierence. I wasnt getting the performance i wanted so i overcloked it and it runs it on medium smoothly. You arent doing much as far as future proffing though. The 5670 is already outdated. Imagine in 3 months when the next generation video cards come out.
