A good branded PSU is always the way to go I would go with a Corsair 850w if I were you? But again wait for more response to be certain.

What are the major differences between the AX Gold PSUs and the HX units?

Mostly just better efficiency.

Thanks again.

I'm a newbie at this and this is my first time building a PC so let's say I wanted to overvlocked the PC would that Antech 550w be enough? Or should I go for a 750w?

Yeah 550W should be fine for that even with overclocking since it's a quality unit.

The gold ones also have hybrid fans on some of the low wattage models. This means that when pulling under 200W or so, the fan won't spin.

Things like voltage regulation will be better too.

The AX series are just the old version of the Seasonic X series rebranded so if you are looking at an AX PSU just go with a Seasonic X-560, X-660 or X-760. These are improved versions.
