Hello,
we are buying a laptop for college but needs also to be able to play online games (starcraft). what kind of video card should we look for, any list on ratings of best choices to look for?
you might be better off with a gaming desktop and a cheap netbook combination, desktops are generally more powerful and cheaper, and a netbook would be much easier to carry around, here is a heirachy list for gpus, the ones with m on the end are the laptop chips http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/gaming-performance-radeon-geforce,review-32274-7.html

When you buy a laptop, you are stuck with whatever graphics solution the vendor has installed. You can not use a discrete graphics card, nor change it out.
