Building a new system to replace an older one. Here's what I've got so far...
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H (rev. 1.1)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) BLS2KIT4G3D1339DS1S00 (2 of these for 16GB total)
OS: Windows 7
CPU: Here's where I want advice...
I originally was leaning toward the Intel Core i5-3450 3.1GHz proc, but it's currently out of stock where I wanted to buy it, so I started looking at different ones and compared it to the Intel Core i5-3470 3.2GHz Processor.
Now the 3470 is in stock and cheaper, even though it's faster. It does have a slower Graphics Max Dynamic Frequency, but I'm not sure how important that is.
I also noticed that the out-of-stock 3450 had an integrated memory controller. Since the mb has a memory controller as well, should I avoid the 3450? Is it better for me to go with the 3470? And overall, does this look like a good build?
Also.... what would the reason be for going with the GA-Z77X-UD3H over the GA-Z77X-D3H? For me the difference was mostly in SATA controllers in conjunction with a SSD (which I don't plan to have) and SATA RAIDs, which I don't have. Is there something important I'm missing?
