Hi guy's!

I have been doing nearly 3 month's of research befor I build my computer. I have noticed that AMD has some cheap but great, CPU's out there. I have already got the motherboard (Ga-970a-D3 with a AM3+ Slot) and HDD (Seagate 1Tb). I have been looking at the FX-6100, FX-8120 and FX-8150. Since I'm new to this I have no idea which is better or why so that's why I need your help. Can anyone recommend a Decent CPU that can handle these task's:

1. Gaming
I'm a passionate PC and have for year's. Now it's time to step up and build my own rig. I play Starcraft, WOW, Guild Wars 2 (When it comes out), Portal 2 and other Graphic Heavy Games.

2. Video Editing
Whether it's let's play's or a review on a new game I need to be able to quickly create and upload to Youtube.

3. Any thing else that I bother doing.

I would prefer to buy off Amazon.com only because they can ship outside the U.S. and have great Price's compared to here in New Zealand where it's twice the price. My budget is $300USD and under as I want this Machine to be Powerful but not burn a hole in my pocket.

If whole system is $300 I don't think these three can be your choice... you may looking for fx-4100

even FX-6100 selling for $149 US the other two even more expensive...
and you want $150 to do the rest computer stuff....?

No my Budget for a CPU is $300 not the whole computer! My overall budget for the PC is $1,500USD.

For gaming you best go intel with a $300 budget (i5-2500k plus a nice aftermarket cooler to get you to 4.6-5ghz).

For video editing an i7-2600k or FX-8120.

If your near a microcenter, you could get the 8120 for 189 and a free motherboard, 3 boards to choose from.

Unfortunately I had already bought the Motherboard (Gigabyte GA-970a-D3) I would return it but I can't get a refund sadly :(

Course if you had read his post you'd know he already has an am3+ board so Intel is out.... Budget boy can't read either I guess.

Bulldozers not the best but its fine for gaming. I'd probably go with the 8120 in your situation. (well I'd wait for pile driver but oh well)

Don't worry OP. Pick up the 8120 and a hyper 212 evo cooler and OC it quite a bit. You'll likely be more than happy with it if you don't mind the added heat. It's no 2500k but it will play games with very little hassle, and the video encoding should be a breeze.

Okay It's looking as if I may get the 8120 now... BUT how loud it is with the Hyper 212 Evo Cooler? I would like it to quiet as it's going in my bedroom so, yea :)

Well I don't have it myself, but I have a similar performing corsair a70. It's not whisper quiet, but that's also a bit to do with my mobo's fan settings. I wouldn't call it very noisy though. You can always replace the fan(s) on it later to a more quiet type if you so choose. If you don't mind spending some more for a cooler, the noctua ones are very highly regarded and should be a bit more quiet.

What cooler would you recommend for me then? :D  I'm currently looking at the Corsair A70, would I be able to fit Corsair Vengeance Blu Ram in or is there no space for it?

since you already have the mobo: fx 8120 + cm hyper 212 evo cooler or something like noctua nh d14.
if you want to wait till piledriver has come out, then fx 4100 or ph ii x4 960T.
if you decide to get a pd cpu later, the 6-8 core ones might seem like sidegrades.
you can check out this link:
http://www.frostytech.com/top5heatsinks.cfm#AMDHEATSINK
video editing softwares love cpu cores and ram, 8-16 gb ddr3 1600 should be starting point.

Okay thank's! I think I'll go with what most of you said: Get the FX-8120 and the CM Hyper 212 Evo Cooler! Now just to get the money :)
