I have the sabertooth z77 and Kingston HyperX 16GB 2400mhz. I am wondering how I can get the Ram to run at 2400 MHz it automatically goes to 1300, I go into the uefi bios and can change it to XMP mode and select 2400 Mhz but when I get back into windows and check it is still running at 1300 mhz. How do I make it 2400 MHz or atleast as close to it as I can?

More about : kingston hyperx 16gb 2400mhz

Don't enable XMP rather increase the memory multiplier.

If you leave it at normal then with XMP disables the ram cards will run at 10600 or 1333 MHz.
Memory multiplier is found under bios

You're not the only one! I too have the same build and problem (Asus Sabertooth z77 with Kingston HyperX Beast 16Gb 2400mhz) I've tried to set the Ram myself to 2400MHz with timers 11-13-13-32, but the motherboard just changes it back to 1333 and auto timers. (default setting I'm guessing?) I've also tried the XMP settings because it showed the correct ram MHz and Timings, but on boot I got the message saying "Overclocking Failed" "please enter bios" IM NOT EVEN TRYING TO OVERCLOCK!.. -yet. I think this ram just isn't compatible. ???? In need of professional assistance.

Here's my build btw.
ASUS Sabertooth z77
Intel i7 3770K 3.5GHz
Kingston HyperX Beast (2x8gb) 16GB 2400MHz
Samsung 840 Pro Series 128GB
EVGA GTX 470 1280GB
... -hellokitty flashdrive.

Hey guys,

Found the solution, just rebuild my PC today. Got new ram Kingston HyperX Beast 2133mhz.
1 problem though, i couldnt get it too 2133, it stayed at 1333mhz.

First get the latencies and voltage information of your ram.

then follow this video

And mine is now at 2133 Mhz Yeaahhh.

Hope this helps.
