RAM: G.SKILL NS 4GB Model F3-10600CL9D-4GBNS $21

Heatsink+Fan: STOCK $0

DVD-ROM: SAMSUNG CD/DVD Burner 22X $16

Total: $336

Explanation: I would go with this because of the CPU, it is a dual core Intel 2nd generation Sandy Bridge CPU. It is great at simple tasks such as word and internet browsing and can even hold up to some light gaming (that is if there is a discrete gfx card), the intel integrated 2000 gfx is perfect for online videos and normal work. I'm going to other companies to buy parts because it is cheaper, such as the WD 500GB drive. It is $10 cheaper at bestbuy and also is a more reliable brand. The NZXT Gamma requires shipping (to where I live) and Amazon ships for free. I chose the G.Skill RAM because the heatspreaders aren't necessary unless you're overclocking, which i doubt you are.

64bit all the way. 64bit allows for more than 4GB of RAM to be in your system, and if you do only get 4GB, using a 32bit OS only allows around 3.5GB to be used

EDIT: If you read this today, and live in the US(which you probably do) then buy this RAM AND BUY NOWWWW!!!!!:

It is only $3 more expensive and is 8GB (who doesn't like 8GB of RAM? normal price is around $39)
