G-Skill vs Transend

I have two 1gb transcend DDR2 chips in my pc came stock, just stock transcend ram.

My question is would it be worth switch to two G-Skill 1gb ram chips for $12.00

Thanks its just i cant afford to buy two 2gb chips so trying to find the right deal DDR2 is so expensive

Indeed it is, I just had some DDR2 memory go bad, I decided to just buy a whole new board so I could switch to DDR3. Just finished installing it earlier today actually.

Nice, ok well i got another question, if i bite the bullet and buy two 2gb chips does it really matter much on brand?

all i do it some small gaming like MW2 and Wow

So should i pay for a good brand like G-Skill or OCZ or would just plain old Samsung ram do fine. i am currently bidding on this

Transcend is the only manufacturing company give lifetime warranty in ram. so no need to worry about problems .
if u get ram at low cost by bidding that's ok its value for money so u can sell at high cost.

Stop posting this crap over and over. Transcend is NOT the only company with a lifetime warranty. Corsair, GSkill, Kingston, Crucial, Patriot, Mushkin, PNY, Geil, AData, Samsung.....the list goes on. ALL of these have a lifetime warranty.

Samsung RAM is actually quite good. It just lacks the fancy, unnecessary heatspreaders most brands force on you.

Not if major brand with genuine part nos., not counterfeit. Condition matters more since many loose DDR2 chips now are used, not new. Soldering is difficult and likely not worth the savings over purchasing whole populated DIMMs. DIMM brand matters, Samsung, Hynix, Nanya, Micron best, but with Micron choose only 1.80V versions, not 'Ballistix'

Those used Samsung DIMMs, if not damaged, are excellent, better than G-Skill or OCZ.
