Upgrading CPU

I am planning to play World of Tanks on Very high 30-40 or even 40+ FPS and I am unhappy with my HD 6770 upgrade from GT 220.I cant run alot of games on high,I can run World of Tanks on high not on very high and on high I get 20-25 FPS in open area but in town I get 30+.So should i5 2500k 3.3GHz do the job?I am upgrading from Dual-Core 3.0 GHz @ 3.0 GHz.

My specs:

Processor:Dual-Core 3.0 GHz @ 3.0 GHz

Graphic card:VTX3D HD 6770 1GB DDR5

RAM:4 GB

OS:Win 7

  1. What is the model is your dual core? If its a socket 1155 pentium dual core I would expect this game to play well.

How can I find that out?
  3. Press the start button on windows and search for "dxdiag" and it will list all your components.

Ok,did that but where do I read my Dual Core model?
  5. use cpuz to get info of your cpu and then post a pic or details.
  6. My proccessor is socket 775 LGA.It is not socket 1155.
  7. Is more sockets better?
  8. The i5 2500k is socket 1155. In order to use it you would have to purchase a 1155 motherboard. If you have the money to do so then yes the 2500k will do the job spectacularly
  9. And how much is that going to cost me?Alot?
