Hello,
I was going to start a build. Was going to buy a asus p8z77-v motherboard and use a ssd as the primary and two 2tb in raid 1 will this board let me do that
It will, but I'm not sure if TRIM will be supported with the latest driver Intel SATA set to RAID, if you connect the SSD to one of the Intel SATA ports.
So you can connect the SSD to one of the ASMedia SATA ports, SATA set to AHCI and the HDDs to the Intel SATA ports, SATA set to RAID.
Here's a link for SATA controllers performance http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/286329-14-comparing-controllers-sata
I was going to use the two 2tb drives in raid 1as storage by the way. Would using a seperate card instead of the motherboard to do raid 1 be a better idea
