M017g dell motherboard q9400 2.66 quad core 2 processor need video card upgrade

Dell 540 tower
8 gb 800mhz ram
750gb hd 7200 rpm
3650 ati radeon card (wanting to upgrade)
350w power supply

Has the M017G motherboard pcie x16 card I need a better video card has power and speed but graphics are slow and choppy! The card is around 30-40 fps 1280x720 and call of duty: modern warfare on intense situations they dip in the 12 fps and wow i get killed all the time. Wanting to know what cards would fit and recommendations?!?!

That Corsair would be a good upgrade for your PSU. Is your computer a Dell 540 Studio?

You just have to make sure that tower has enough room physically to fit your new GPU.

Then you would be able to get a decent graphics card. And the card I would reccomend:

AMD HD 6850

Radeon HD 6850 1GB GDDR5

Semi decent video card - and the only reason I reccomend this GPU is because it's a good mid-range video card. Your CPU is a little on the weak side so I don't reccomend going anything higher as your resolution is a little low (1280x720).

Any PCIe graphics card your PSU is able to power up will be OK.

Yea I really like the new 6850 card but will measure and make sure that is fits ok as well, is the home cpu so don't really mess around with it to much have the other machine oc'ed to 3.4ghz on air so far and runs great! Just wanted to give this one a bit more of a boost! The 2.66ghz quad core 2 is a good cpu does eveyrthing else really well graphics just have to be turned down to low to play anything. 8 gb ram DDR2 400mhz was going to upgrade but its a dell mb would have to I think change everything out to do that plus its a lga 775 and there getting scarce now rather just build one more newer system again and oc it

Actually its a good cpu the Q9400 Quad Core 2 Intel 775 2.66 I actually got luck on that part! Just no mb out there and yea the power supply just died so going ot update the power supply and graphics finally on it... ugh! Got the new one built though this one for a spare for the kiddo.. loves gaming too lol!
