I got this MSI N640GT-MD2GD3/OC graphic card but I have no idea whether my board will support this or not. My motherboard is Asus P5G41 T-MLX. What I am really confused in is that the graphic card uses PCI Express 3.0. So can my board support this graphic card? :)

Does it need different slot? I mean like DDR2 RAM cannot be instilled in DDR3 slots. Is it the same case? or the difference is just in the performance and not in the hardware?

You have a PCIe slot on the board, so yes, the card should work. There is no physical difference between the various PCIe revisions, just in the transfer speed.

Just to be safe, check the version of the PCIe slot on your board. If it is Rev1.1 or above, you will be fine.

Also do a BIOS update before installing the graphics card just to make sure there are no problems although all PCI-e Standards are backwards compatible but you should still update the BIOS since its a new card.
