The upgrade can be downloaded to bootable media, but can I do a clean installation to the SSD? The Windows XP installation would then be removed and the data restored. I have read various threads about this and it is totally confusing. I was replacing the motherboard too as the existing one did not have AHCI. With the SSD connected as well as the old HDD with XP SP3 installed. Then ran the upgrade without problems.
