My issue : Right so I am not ignorant of PCs at all but this is vexing me. Some of my USB 3 ports are totally unresponsive. They provide power but nothing else. As far as I can tell the ports giving issues are all ASMedia third party controlled. The ports are unresponsive to any and all USB devices I have tried.(mouse, multiple drives USB2 and 3, flash drives, etc.)
What I have tried :
Latest BIOS update (among other things improves USB compatibility)
Latest ASMedia and Intel USB drivers after uninstal and clean sweep.
Now I am almost to the point of going for a fresh windows install but would like to avoid it for now as the installation is barely 3 months old and quite well maintained otherwise.
I have googled this as well and have found many people with similar issues but none of the solutions have helped.
Can anyone help?
