Hello,
I have two computers at home. One is wired (mine) the other is wireless (daughters). I have a problem that when my daughters computer is running it slows my wired connection down or in some cases cuts it off completely. Any help would be appreciated.

This shouldn’t be happening unless your daughter is continually downloading large amounts of data (e.g., torrents). I just want to be sure it’s not something else, like some sort of misconfiguration.

But if it is just a case of her eating up all the bandwidth, then you need a router w/ QoS (Quality of Service) controls. You can then prioritize traffic based on factors such as MAC address, IP address, type of traffic (e.g., bittorrent vs. http vs. voip), etc.
