Power issue ?

Hello,
My computer cuts it's self on automatically after being hooked to a power source then shuts itself off after a few seconds. The board power light is on but when I hit the power switch it wont cut on, when I unhook the power cord and reconnect it does the same thing, power supply power switch or mobo issue? Thanks for any help

Please provide some system details like make and model of the system if it is a consumer desktop unit like an Acer, Dell, Gateway, HP, Sony, etc or provide the make and model of the motherboard, graphics card, power supply unit.

It is normal for fans to turn on momentarily when power is switched ON to a desktop computer.
