This will be my first time building a pc form scratch and I have one main concern that hopefully someone can make clear. I have chosen the following main components.

- ASRock FM2A85X Extreme6 FM2 AMD A85X (Hudson D4) HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

- AMD A10-5800K Trinity 3.8GHz (4.2GHz Turbo) Socket FM2 100W Quad-Core Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 7660D AD580KWOHJBOX

- G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL10S-8GBXL

The concern I have is the memory compatibility. Any thoughts on this setup would be much appreciated.

The reason i am concerned is that this ram isnt listed on asrock's compatibility chart and in the rams specs it mentions AM3 ? Im just not sure.

Here are the specs on G.SKILL's website:
http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=422

M/B Chipset Intel Z77, Intel Z68, Intel P67, Intel P55
XMP Ready for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Generation Intel Core Processors
Compatible with AMD platform

Looks like those modules were designed for Intel platform and G.SKILL is trying to assure us that it will also work on AMD platforms.

It might. Just try it. It won't kill the modules or damage the board. If the modules have an XMP profile, then it is best to load that profile in the BIOS.

I hope that you are using 2 modules (dual channel) and not just 1.
