I was going to wait for PCIe 3 cards. From what I have seen most people say they would not wait. I see people saying that most cards can't even max out the bandwidth of PCIe 2 slot. How do you figure the bandwidth of a video card. All I see on the product pages is Core Clock, Effective Memory Clock, etc...

The memory interface , 256 bit , 320 bit , 384 bit. The type of ram , GDDR5. The Effective memory clock xxxxmhz. These are the determining factors in calculating the bandwidth of any video card. Since most all newer cards have GDDR5 ram , the memory interface and the clock speed are the two things that you want to look at without actually doing the calculation to get a ball park idea.
A card with an interface of 384 bit and a clock of 4050mhz is going to have a bandwidth higher than a card with an interface of 320 and a clock of 3902mhz.
