This is my current "shopping cart" and everything seems to be acceptable. I'm a little new at this and I just want to ask the community if I have made any errors in any way before I buy the parts. I also have another $500ish to spend on top of this also and if anyone see's any opportunities for a substantial performance upgrade I would be very appreciative.

Forget amd. You want an i5 2500k.
