hello all,

Im planning a new system that i plan on ordering and building soon, but its been a long time since i've built a system and i wanted to run it by you guys and make sure i have everything in check. It will be used mostly for every day use but i do want to run bf3 and a few other games (knowing its not the gaming machine out there). Right now im about where im comfortable spending.

heres what i have lined up:

Processor: Intel Core i5-2500 //Im pretty set on this.
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) //good reviews and good price.
Mobo: MSI P67A-G43 (B3) LGA 1155 P67 ATX Intel Motherboard //i know p67 is older, but it still fits my needs while supporting the i5.
PS: Antec BP550 Plus 550W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.2 80 //i like the modular design and price+reviews.
Case: Antec 300
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" //want to keep it 7200rpm without breaking the bank.
video card: ATI radeon HD 5850 //got this card for 120. too good of a deal to pass up so i went with it.

Things not needed: win7, mon, key and mouse.

Basically i'm asking what other things am i gonna need. small things, big things, whatever. Any feedback is appreciated!

I'd say, swap out the 2500, with a 2500K instead. Pick up a decent HSF to go with it. A good one on the cheap is the CM Hyper 212+ for $26 on the egg.

Swap out the older MSI garbage MB with this instead, and save $5: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
$110 BIOSTAR TZ68A+ LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

thanks for the input! I mainly chose the 2500 over the 2500k because i dont really plan to overclock, but now that i think about it, that sounds nice just as an option. I'll definitely add the hsf to the list as well as that motherboard.
